Accepting Medicaid!

Beginning in January all Expecting Moms with Medicaid will have to choose one of the three Community Care Networks for their services. Gentle Choices is proud to announce that we will be a provider with the LA Care Network. So if you become pregnant and qualify for Medicaid and want to have a natural childbirth signup with the LA Care Network for your Medicaid services and you can deliver with us.

Insurance Coverage

Blue Cross of Louisiana announced back in June of 2011 that they would begin paying the Birth Center claims at out of network rates. Since that time they have refused to pay our claims. After many conversations and meetings they have admitted that they will pay only the facility side of the claim and will not cover the midwifery fees at all. We took many Blue Cross patients on in good faith, and feel that we have been mislead by this insurance company. If you are a Blue Cross client please call and complain as this is the only way we will be able to make them understand that patients want the right to choose where and with who they deliver their children.

Christmas Party

Our Annual Cookie Exchange/Christmas get together is set for Monday December 19 at Lafayette Regional Library South located at 6101 Johnston Street. Last year we totally outgrew our building for this event, so we hope this year has an even bigger turn out. Bring the kiddos and a cookie or sweet and come visit with us. 5:30 to 8:30. Happy Holidays
