Lynette E. Robinson, LM
Licensed Midwife Practitioner
Current President for the Louisiana Midwives Association, Lynette began her midwifery practice in Pennsylvania serving the central Amish and Mennonite rural communities in 1993. As a former student of osteopathic medicine, she transferred her focus to the natural un-medicated birth process and joined a local OB/GYN office as midwife and certified doula/childbirth educator.
Once relocated to Louisiana in 1996 Lynette became actively involved with the local midwives until personal family obligations required her to leave her love of midwifery in order to raise her young children. For several years she taught Biology in the Acadiana secondary school system as well as Anatomy & Physiology at the Jr. College level. As an advocate for women's rights, domestic violence and substance abuse intervention programs, she sat on many non-profit executive boards and headed many at-risk children's organizations while publicly speaking around the nation and appearing as featured guest on the Oprah Show.
Never leaving her spirit, the call to Midwifery reached out and brought Lynette to Gentle Choices in June 2007, whereupon she resumed her commitment to serve women passionately as a Licensed Midwife Practitioner.
